CALEANGUS Scholarships

The California Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (CAL-EANGUS) will award two scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 to CAL-EANGUS members. Winners will be selected based on merit. Previous winners are not eligible. Awards are made possible through the generosity of our sponsors, USAA and private donations.

Requirements and qualifications are briefly outlined as follows:

  • Applicants need to demonstrate performance of their duties and be an active drilling member of the California National Guard.

  • Must have completed a minimum of one year of service.
  • Must be currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree or be enrolled in a vocational program. (Those pursuing a second bachelors degree not eligible.
  • Applicants must be members of CAL-EANGUS in good standing

EANGUS Scholarships

There are two types of scholarships available.  The CSM Virgil R. Williams and the Patriot Scholarships are paid by EANGUS directly to the school the selectee is attending.  The second type of scholarships are presented by specific universities that EANGUS has partnered with.  The link below will guide you to the applications you will need to submit for each scholarship.  The tabs provide details of each scholarship along with the requirements.  If at anytime you have questions, please contact scholarship@eangus.org and someone will respond to your inquiry or request for assistance.

 

Requirements to apply:
  • EANGUS Membership Number (required for application)
  • Transcripts (HS, College, CLEP, etc.) (These must be uploaded and CANNOT be done from a mobile device)
  • On-line application (with transcripts uploaded)
  • Deadline to apply is 15 May 2021 (unless listed otherwise)
  • **Additional information may be required for specific schools**

AUSA Scholarships

If you are an EANGUS member and did not opt out, you are also a member of AUSA (Association of the United States Army) at no charge. You are eligible for these scholarships, regardless of component affiliation!

The Association of the U.S. Army awarded more than $315,000 in national-level scholarships at the end of 2019. For 2020, the scholarship schedule is changing. Applications will be accepted from Feb. 1 until May 15, with awards announced by mid-August.

Scholarship information:
    • Awards of AUSA National scholarships are not limited by race, color, creed, national origin, or gender.
    • Scholarships are intended to render financial assistance for student enrollment in a college-level institution.
    • Application deadline is June 30, 2020.
    • Scholarship awardees must provide an IRS W-9 form to receive scholarship funds.
    • For a scholarship or grant to be tax free, a student must use it to pay for qualified expenses WHILE earning a degree.

2020 CAL-EANGUS Scholarship Winners

After I achieve my degree, I plan to find opportunities in the private sector and/or public sector where I can give back to the people. I plan to pay it forward and help people of all different kinds of backgrounds.
