As we come to the close of another remarkable year

As we come to the close of another remarkable year, I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your dedication and support of CAL EANGUS. Together, we have accomplished incredible milestones in 2024, and it’s your unwavering commitment that makes our success possible.

This year, we stood strong in advocacy, including our support of AB 46 and sponsorship of AB 53, both of which aim to enhance the lives of our service members and their families. These legislative efforts reflect our mission to ensure California’s National Guard and veteran communities receive the recognition and support they deserve.

We are also thrilled to celebrate a year of growth and impact:

Membership Growth: We welcomed over 400 new members to the CAL EANGUS family, strengthening our collective voice and reach.

Scholarship Awards: This year, we awarded $23,000 in scholarships to CAL EANGUS members and their dependents, investing in the futures of those who serve and their loved ones.

Community Support: CAL EANGUS provided over $80,000 in support to CAL GUARD units and CMD Family Programs, ensuring that our service members and their families receive essential resources and care.

National Leadership: We proudly celebrate the election of two CAL GUARD members to the EANGUS National Office, further amplifying California’s influence and representation on the national stage.

These accomplishments are a testament to the strength of our community and the shared commitment to our mission. As we reflect on these achievements, let us also look ahead to the opportunities and challenges of 2025. Together, we will continue to advocate, support, and make a difference for those who serve.

From my family to yours, I wish you a joyful holiday season filled with peace, happiness, and cherished memories. Thank you for being an integral part of the CAL EANGUS family and for your steadfast dedication to our mission.

This weekend, CAL EANGUS had the honor of supporting the 640th Aviation Support Battalion’s holiday event, helping make it a memorable celebration for the soldiers and their families.

CAL EANGUS proudly sponsored the majority of the food bill, ensuring that attendees could enjoy the festivities without worrying about costs. The event featured a fantastic live band, delicious food, and—most importantly—a chance for soldiers to decompress and connect with their loved ones in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

At CAL EANGUS, we remain committed to supporting our National Guard community and fostering opportunities to strengthen the bonds between service members and their families.

We are deeply committed to advocating for H.R. 7543 / S. 3873, the Guard and Reserve GI Bill Parity Act of 2024, as part of this year’s Legislative Priorities . This legislation has the potential to help thousands of our service members and have a lasting impact on their lives and mission readiness by ensuring that we take care of those who serve.

What actions can you take?

On December 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm, the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States will be participating in the Wreaths Across America program at Arlington National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes. Please join us by sponsoring a remembrance wreath, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.

You can sponsor a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery or at a variety of other cemeteries across the nation, including a few here in Washington.

You can also order decorative wreaths for yourself and loved ones!
