As we come to the close of another remarkable year As we come to the close of another remarkable year, I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your dedication and support of CAL EANGUS. Together, we have accomplished incredible milestones in 2024, and itโ€™s your unwavering commitment that makes our success possible. This year, we stood strong in advocacy, including our support of AB 46 and sponsorship of AB 53, both of which aim to enhance the lives of our service members and their families. These legislative efforts reflect our mission to ensure Californiaโ€™s National Guard and veteran communities receive the recognition and support they deserve. We are also thrilled to celebrate a year of growth and impact: Membership Growth: We welcomed over 400 new members to the CAL EANGUS family, strengthening our collective voice and reach. Scholarship Awards: This year, we awarded $23,000 in scholarships to CAL EANGUS members and their dependents, investing in the futures of those who serve and their loved ones. Community Support: CAL EANGUS provided over $80,000 in support to CAL GUARD units and CMD Family Programs, ensuring that our service members and their families receive essential resources and care. National Leadership: We proudly celebrate the election of two CAL GUARD members to the EANGUS National Office, further amplifying Californiaโ€™s influence and representation on the national stage. These accomplishments are a testament to the strength of our community and the shared commitment to our mission. As we reflect on these achievements, let us also look ahead to the opportunities and challenges of 2025. Together, we will continue to advocate, support, and make a difference for those who serve. Ever wonder what CAL-EANGUS board members make?? N Ever wonder what CAL-EANGUS board members make?? Nothing. Zip. Zero. What keeps us going is knowing how much of a difference we are making in thousands of lives. We know that the money is not ours to keep but to find ways to give it back to those who need it the most. Most of our funds come from State Sponsored Life Insurance (SSLI) and between our board making decisions on how much and where it goes and our amazing treasurer (also a volunteer) keeping our funds managed perfectly, we are able to continue to give it back to the military guard members and their families in many different ways. Without our volunteer board members we canโ€™t make this happen. We need more volunteers though. Do you like to plan a social gathering? Do you like to fly or drive to a military party or deployment to tell more people about us? Would you like to have a vote on how the board manages the money and are a current annual member? We have lots of ways anyone can be part of the team. It will give you a sense of feeling like you made a much bigger difference than what you might be able to do within your job.
