San Diego, CA – August 2025

During this year’s California National Guard Senior Leader Conference in San Diego, CAL EANGUS proudly presented its prestigious Triad Award to the Command Team of the 148th Space Operations Squadron (SOPS). The award was presented by CAL EANGUS President CMSgt Josh J. Baker, in recognition of the unit’s unwavering commitment to enlisted advocacy and professional development.

The 148th SOPS leadership team—Lt Col S. DeMarco, CMSgt D. Laity, and MSgt J. Mann—each hold life memberships in CAL EANGUS, demonstrating a unified investment in the success and well-being of their enlisted force.

“The Triad Award represents more than just membership,” said CMSgt Baker. “It signifies that a command team is all in—committed to the values of mentorship, advocacy, and professional development that CAL EANGUS stands for. The 148th SOPS sets a high standard for leadership through action.”

The CAL EANGUS Triad Award was created by the Board of Directors to honor California National Guard Command Teams who have each individually become Life Members of CAL EANGUS. This unique recognition highlights a leadership triad’s shared commitment to supporting the enlisted corps through legislative advocacy, leadership development, and membership engagement.

The 148th SOPS now joins a growing list of units across California setting the example for what strong, engaged, and unified leadership looks like.

Congratulations to Lt Col DeMarco, CMSgt Laity, and MSgt Mann—and thank you for being all in.
