Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown in the days, months, and years that followed. On this 25th anniversary, we reflect on the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members who answered the nation’s call.
In the aftermath of 9/11, the men and women of the National Guard answered the call without hesitation—defending the homeland, supporting their communities, and deploying wherever the mission required. Their service became a visible reminder of resolve, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the nation.
For 25 years, EANGUS has remained equally steadfast in its dedication to those who serve. In the wake of 9/11 and throughout the years since, EANGUS has stood alongside National Guard service members and their families, advocating for their well-being, supporting their needs, and ensuring their voices are heard. That commitment endures today as strongly as ever.
We honor the memory of those we lost and we recognize the lasting responsibility to care for those who continue to serve and our retirees. EANGUS remains committed to supporting our service members, veterans, and families with the same sense of purpose, unity, and resilience that carried our nation forward through tragedy.

As we observe the 25th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and honor the courage, sacrifice, and unity that followed. That day forever changed our nation—and transformed the National Guard from a largely strategic reserve into an operational force continually engaged in protecting our homeland and defending America’s interests around the world.
For a generation, Guard Soldiers and Airmen have responded to overseas combat missions, homeland-security requirements, natural disasters, civil emergencies, and public-health crises—often with little notice. Their families have served alongside them, enduring repeated deployments, missed milestones, employment challenges, and the uncertainty that comes with military service. Their strength and steadfast support have made the Guard’s service possible and remain essential to its readiness and success.
At EANGUS, we carry their sacrifices with us every day. We will never stop working to ensure that Guard members, veterans, retirees, and their families are heard, supported, and provided with the benefits, resources, and recognition they have earned through their service to our nation.
