The 54th Annual EANGUS Conference in Reno, Nevada, brought together enlisted leaders, delegates, and members from across the country—and California made a strong showing.
This year, our state was represented by 12 delegates and 12 Professional Development (PD) attendees, along with a few additional members who joined in since the conference was right in our backyard. The presence of such a robust California team highlighted not only our commitment to advocacy but also our investment in the growth and development of future leaders.
Legislative Impact
One of the highlights of the conference was the adoption of a California-submitted resolution that was accepted and voted on by the entire body. This important resolution recognizes a change of duty status as a qualified life event under FERS, ensuring that Federal employees are able to adjust their life insurance and other benefits when their duty status changes. California is proud to have advanced an initiative that will have a meaningful, nationwide impact for our service members.
A Taste of California at All States Night
All States Night, one of the most anticipated traditions of the EANGUS Conference, gave California the chance to showcase some of the flavors that make our state unique. We offered an assortment of California wines, almonds, and of course, Jelly Belly jelly beans—all proudly produced in the Golden State. The table was a hit and represented our state’s spirit of hospitality, camaraderie, and pride.
Recognition at the Awards Banquet
The conference concluded with the Formal Awards Banquet, where California was recognized by the EANGUS Scholarship Committee for our generous donation that allowed six additional EANGUS members to apply for scholarships. This recognition underscores our commitment to supporting the education and growth of Guard members and their families nationwide.
Looking Ahead
As the Reno conference wrapped up, California looks forward with enthusiasm to the 2026 EANGUS Conference in Daytona, Florida. With momentum behind our resolutions, strong participation from our delegates, and a growing investment in professional development, California will continue to lead from the front.
