The latest edition of the Sergeants Major Association of California (SMAofCA) Newsletter has been published, providing updates, reflections, and important information for members across our state.

In this issue, SMA President CSM Scott Witt (Ret.) shares news on the outstanding work being done across the California Military Department, including recent deployments of the 115th RSG overseas and the upcoming return of the 3/140 Aviation Regiment from a stateside mission. The newsletter also recognizes the achievements of senior enlisted leaders taking on new assignments, and the ongoing progress at the RTI with courses like Air Assault and Pathfinder now being offered.

The newsletter also features:

  • A Chaplain’s Message and reminder of the importance of supporting the Chaplain’s Fund, which provides direct assistance to service members in need.

  • A tribute to CSM William Clark Jr., who passed away in September after a distinguished 43-year military career.

  • Updates on elections for SMA Treasurer and Recording Secretary.

  • Membership reminders, including dues renewal information and ways to contribute to the Chaplain’s Fund.

This quarterly publication is a vital resource for keeping connected with the work of senior enlisted leaders and the programs that directly support California’s Guard and veteran communities.
